Xfire?

I'd never heard of this IM before. Seems like a nice enough tool and the service would certainly appeal to FPS shooter clans that bump around a lot. My question is do you think this has any benefit for WWIIOLers other than possibly getting exposure to a bunch (is that true?) of gamers who might not have heard of us before.

We've certainly done pretty well from involvment with the excellent Firing Squad community. What do you guys know or think about Xfire?

You can use the all-seeing-eye instead... then you also get a game browser.

my own option is that I made a program that when wwiionline is running will send a specified name to a server and list it on my webpage. not as neat as those other programs but it work.

Well, half it's features wont work for a game like ours that only has 1 server. Other than that I don't think it could do anything but good, but then the good it will do wont be a great amount. This thing's ment for games with 50,000 servers.

I use it to launch games and to log my game usage. The program uploads the hours of your most played game to sig-sized JPG. It would be nice to show off that I've played WWIIOL for 50 hours this week :-)

I've recruited players from their forums to WWIIOL in the past with good success. Though to be honest, I haven't visited there at all in a while. I couldn't see it hurting us...

They're currently going through a lawsuit at the moment with Yahoo, although I'm sure that won't affect you (unless you got in bed with them).

I posted about getting it wired into WWiiOL a few months back, but nothing came of it.
