Last year Lucas capped off the series and put a grateful end to The defining story arc of my child hood. Never got to work on that series and trust me, i would have kicked SWG into the vaunted anals of all time most kick ass game. Trust me, really.
last weekend the number two slot on my most influential list took me for a beta run. Yup. D&D online. Pretty cool, a bit too much like NWN and honestly we prefer to play Hackmaster to 3.5 but still, a life milestone dream project is ccoming to pass without my direct involvment. More's the pity.
Now this weekend the guys at PA are giving me the golden ticket to ride on THE game I have most always wanted to make. CAR WARS MUTHUR TRUCKIN ONLINE. Wewt! Ah right, well it's Auto Assault. Still, Car Wars is about my most favorite game of all time. I have visions constantly of making this game online. Hell I've got about 5 acres of custom paper maps in my office and you can still find my old custom chits online if you look hard enough. All I can say is this better be friggin good or I am going to make my own damn version and I don't care how many times old Steve J says no I can't have the rights because I'm a lunatic stalker.

Car Wars Rocked but Traveller was better.

Wow. I still load up an Apple II emulator and play Auto Duel every once in a while (it was licensed from SJ Games).
Interstate '76 was the best computer car game I've played. I'll have to look into Auto Assault.
Eh, everything I've seen about Auto Assault is it's EQ with cars, down to the 3 clases of fighter, healer and enchanter (crowd control).
And you can't play it from 1st person either.
Still, I hope we see SJG licence car wars one day online.

I didn't get to play. Hopefully tonight. It seems Ygnition networks thinks you should be disconnected for filesharing if you try and download 3Gb at 150kb/s all afternoon. I mean hell, you're hogging the whole pipe and others were getting kicked.

So trying to get it from the office today. Maybe get to play tonight, we'll see.
All in all though I hope its good enough to play for a while but I still want to do Car Wars, or Autoduel. Without mondo's and jet skis it just ain't gonna be the same.
