Mission Ranking System up for Discussion
I'm working on a specification for a mission ranking system. Let's call it the 5-star system since we like to be really original! This system would look at a mission and give it a rating of 1-5 stars and display that in the mission selection list at Brig HQ. This system would then show at the brigade level which brigade has good missions. I'll proabably play with showing either highest ranking or a weighting system that takes into account how many missions plus rating to give a rating to the individual brigades and thus to the division.
If you think this might lead to an "instant action" option for noobies then you might be correct though I'd personally prefer that this system would entirely circumvent the need for such a system and would have the added benefit of walking recruits throught the brigade system we have in the UI since it is immersive to the period of WWII IMHO.
So then, what would your list of things that make a mission worth taking be? What would earn a mission a star?
You've got 'till Monday so take your time. Discussion is welcome but stay on topic or I'll bust you back to private. That means you Wintergreen!

OK,
MS deployed = 1 star.
Mission at Spawnable = 1 star.
inf to armour ratio of 60% or greater = 1 star.
Target town contested = 1 star.
Spawnlist with at least 50% left = 1 star.
So a mission to attack say BOZ, that has a fullish spawn list, a mobile spawn deployed on it, has 5 panzer & 45 inf spawned from the spawn list & he town is contrested would rank as 4 stars.
Being around lots of people is important. When I spawn ingame and there are lots of infantry standing around, I feel like a part of something, even if nothing is happening at that moment.
I think stars should be awarded for the number of participants.
...In addition to what mwhitman has listed.
Need to take into account who is posting the mission and how successful their missions of that type have been historically.
You post you lead, was the objective accomplished?
I think the stars should be based on how many are attacking/defending the area of the mission objective. I think the most entertaining missions are large scale ones.
Importance to overall victory
MS deployed
ACtual contested town
number of portable battle latrines
"inf to armour ratio of 60% or greater = 1 star."
This is the case about 99.9% of the time as there are about 600 infantry and 20 tanks per spawn list.
The goal orf this isn't really to rank the mission leader, though is we had that I would weight the mission score with it. Instead this is supposed to be a crutch for the instant actino guys but it can become a terrible feedback loop. You don't want to ewnd up with only 3 missinos in the world...or do you?
by inf to armour ratio of 60% I ment spawned in ratio.
Heck a lot of fb missions have almost all the armour spawned and about 5 inf!
Defended against a lot of those attacks. Kill the 5 inf and slowly pic of the ET's that have nothing to do now their inf are dead. :-)
I realize Monday has come and gone but..
Potential for opposition. How many enemy held towns are linked to your target location (either defensive or offensive)? The greater the potential for opposition, the greater the rating.
