Cool Thing of teh Day

I've never had the chance to go to TED. That seems to be a mistake. I can;t help but think that this technology is somehow tied in with what's coming in Tech5. The idea that your image process should only be about the number of pixels you can draw on the screen, not the number of pixels in the source. So simple. So powerful.

The software that identifies Where and What commonalities among networked images...how does it identify When?

If in fact there is a workable answer to question #1, the software in question could be used to create environmental art for games/simulations set in places and times for which a sufficiency of photographs exist...in real time on the fly, not in advance and canned.

That might be particularly useful for the kinds of tactical planning simulations for which a future version of WWIIOL might be useful.
