Improved EWS or AWS but not Radar
Oli posted on this so I don't have to. Basically what we are going to deliver isn't radar. There are no towers with insane coverage radius that you need to man, giving you weird blips to interpret and no place to blow them up. You can't skirt under it and it won't be very accurate. The trick is more like the EWS system we have only instead of being based on the towns on the map, it'll cover the whole map. The representation will be more like what you might get over the radio from a controller telling you activity levels in certain grids.
I'll be doing a Production Update tomorrow, and maybe a vid describing it in more detail. In the interoim, head on over to Oli's blog where he talks about it in more detail.

Great pic of the topophone :)
Is that what that thing is? I remember seeing that in a book years ago but couldn't remember what it was part of. I thought maybe it was to do with early radar research, thus posted.
I'd love to claim the ability to recognise obscure pre-Great war equipment but actually I just read the caption at the bottom of the pic "Professor Mayer's topophone (1880)" ;)
