Don't Stop Believin'

The hype machine that is SL is in a constant state of "amaze". Journey was one of the heroes of my youth. I still make others suffer to their tunes whenever I find a jukebox cheesy enough to have them rockin. News today is not about the upcoming new album but even better, they are making an island in SL!

After the many tales of failed corporate spaces and flying penises I think we may finally have a winner here for the "virtual world that everyone loves but no one visits".

Even better, the group that has designed their web site for years is leading the design. Seriously, hit the link if you want to see the train wreck that will be.

Even way more better, Journey has picked up a new lead singer. Off the you tubes! From a cover band!! In the Philippines!1eleventy!

I think I may need to take the afternoon off work, get a jean jacket and a rusty Camaro and see if that wheel in the sky still keeps on turnin'.

News: Star Trek Online Goes Bye Bye

I'm not sure any one is surprised at this news. STO was a very difficult design to begin with and coupled with the recent news that Perpetual had already dropped their in house MMO in favor of STO didn't give fans much to hold on to. Now they've dropped this in favor of going into casual games. Hmm.

i'll go out on a limb here and suggest that while WoW has made a new genre of the MMO in the eyes of many, these games are very big and very hard to make and we're going to continue to see more failures than launches and I still don;t see anything on the horizon that will beat WoW. Sure I've heard across the conference table from a certain company that their IP "can kick WoW's ass!". Uh, no. It can't. Sorry.

Oh I ramble. Cheer up Trekkies! There's gonna be 3 Spock's in the next movie. Too bad you'll never get to meet them online. maybe that's a good thing. You probably met Darth in that "other game". What a let down...

This is definitely way up there on the coolest things ever list. If you haven't seen his then I hope it helps make up for my lack of posting lately. She said yes in case you didn't get the announcements we sent out and that means the house shopping and wedding planning are already in full swing. Ugh! the good news is that we might have a pool party this summer. The bad of course is that I have no time to blog atm. Probably just as well. Between Lum, Damion and Ryan you've pretty much got the scene covered. ok well maybe not Damion, looks like he's buying a house as well. Grats Yo! (He barely knows me so don't think I'm name dropping, I just really dig what the guy has to say on design)

Well, the holidays have come and gone and we're back to work on getting 1.28 out the door. I'd like to thank everyone for all the well wishes...in case you haven't heard, she said yes! That's right, there'll be a Mrs. Gophur in the near future, though, I'm sure if you call her that she's likely to punch me in the mouth. Love is great, truly. I am a lucky man.

In other news, this is the strangest holiday thing I've seen since my new pet robot got after the cats.
